This delicious and easy oatmeal crumble topping recipe for a blackberry dessert is probably my favorite fruit dessert that exists. The topping is a mixture of flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt with cold butter cut in. It is the perfect combination of crunchy and sweet that tastes so good in a variety of ways. It's the best and easiest fruit crumble/crisp recipe you'll ever need and one of my favorite desserts.

Mix the flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt in a medium bowl.
Dice the butter into small pieces and add it to the dry ingredients. Cut it in with a pastry cutter or two forks until it is lumpy but incorporated.
Spread out the washed blackberries in the bottom of an 8x8 ceramic or glass pan.
Sprinkle half of the topping over the berries and bake in a 400-degree oven for 30 minutes until the fruit is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
