Easy Oatmeal Crumble Topping Recipe For A Blackberry Dessert

This delicious and easy oatmeal crumble topping recipe for a blackberry dessert is probably my favorite fruit dessert that exists. The topping is a mixture of flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt with cold butter cut in. It is the perfect combination of crunchy and sweet that tastes so good in a variety of ways. It's the best and easiest fruit crumble/crisp recipe you'll ever need and one of my favorite desserts.

Notes

-Freeze the other half of the topping for other desserts, crisps, and pies.
-Old-fashioned rolled oats hold their texture better than quick oats for an oatmeal topping.
- If using salted butter, omit or lower the salt amount.
-Coconut oil or vegan butter can be substituted, but you might get different results.
-Dark brown sugar is great too!
-You can use a food processor instead of a pastry blender to cut in the butter but do not overmix.
