Ingredients

  • 2 cups vodka or your choice of neutral spirit
  • 1/2 cup dried culinary lavender buds
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup equal parts sugar and water

Instructions

  • In a clean, airtight jar, combine the vodka and dried lavender buds. Seal the jar and let it infuse in a cool, dark place for 3-4 weeks. Give the jar a gentle swirl every few days to enhance the infusion.
  • After the infusion period, strain the lavender-infused vodka through a fine mesh strainer, coffee filter, or cheesecloth into a clean glass container. Ensure no lavender particles remain in the liquid.
  • In a small saucepan, heat equal parts sugar and water to create a simple syrup. Allow it to cool completely before adding it to the lavender-infused vodka. Adjust the sweetness to your preference. I made mine with 1/4 cup of each sugar and water, but you can make up to one cup.
  • Pour the lavender liqueur into a sterilized glass bottle, sealing it tightly. Allow the liqueur to rest for an additional week to let the flavors meld

Notes

Be sure to get culinary food-grade lavender buds.
