A Guide to Homemade Lavender Liqueur and Delicious Cocktails
Delicious tastes and aromas are added to vodka (or any liqueur) to create fun and unique cocktails. Lavender buds, water, and time create a lovely brew of botanical indulgence.
In a clean, airtight jar, combine the vodka and dried lavender buds. Seal the jar and let it infuse in a cool, dark place for 3-4 weeks. Give the jar a gentle swirl every few days to enhance the infusion.
After the infusion period, strain the lavender-infused vodka through a fine mesh strainer, coffee filter, or cheesecloth into a clean glass container. Ensure no lavender particles remain in the liquid.
In a small saucepan, heat equal parts sugar and water to create a simple syrup. Allow it to cool completely before adding it to the lavender-infused vodka. Adjust the sweetness to your preference. I made mine with 1/4 cup of each sugar and water, but you can make up to one cup.
Pour the lavender liqueur into a sterilized glass bottle, sealing it tightly. Allow the liqueur to rest for an additional week to let the flavors meld
